Resin Painting, Abstract Art, Contemporary Art
This resin painting has a white background with a black pigment and pearlescent apple green powdered colouring.
600mm x 400mm (24” x 16”)
I first got into using resin with my woodwork, combining wood and resin to make clocks and tables and experimenting with different powered pigments and colours. I then realised that I could paint with them and started making some boards up. It was a steep learning curve as I made many many mistakes before I finally got the hang of it! Resin doesn’t always do what you want as lots of different factors can change the outcome, like temperatures, mixing smaller amounts to larger amounts, taking to long and the resin starting to cure before you have finished, and after i have finished painting and left it over night to set it completely changes, you just have to point it in the direction you want then wait 24hrs and see what you’ve got!!
I make all the boards up myself, most of the 600mm x 400mm and smaller boards have mitred French cleats all round which means with the brackets I make you can hang them any way up you chose.
The larger boards will have plastic coated wire more like a traditional painting.
